  • Patience appointed to fulfill Alexandria School Board vacancy

    At a special meeting held April 14, the Alexandria School Board unanimously approved the appointment of Jeff Patience to fulfill a vacancy on the Board created by the recent resignation of board clerk, Bob Cunniff.   • 6th grade regional Math Masters virtual competition results

    Two Alexandria Public Schools 6th grade student teams competed in the regional Math Masters virtual competition in March. A total of 19 teams from across Minnesota participated in the event. The competition included a fact drill round, three individual rounds and three team rounds. Both Alexandria Public Schools’ teams finished in the top 3 with several students taking individual honors.   • Alexandria School Board approves advertising for bids on two facility additions to replace leased spaces

    At its meeting Monday, February 22, the Alexandria School Board unanimously approved advertising for bids on the Discovery Middle School and Early Education additions which would replace current leased spaces for the district's gymnastics center, as well as the county gyms for community education/youth and adult recreation.   • Kindergarten registration open

    Registration for next September’s kindergarten students (Class of 2034) has begun with the opening of an online registration web portal: http://www.alexschools.org/kindergarten. Parents of children who will be 5 years old by Sept 1 may access the portal to complete the necessary forms and scan documents such as child’s birth certificate and preschool screening (if not completed in Alexandria Public Schools).

  • Alexandria School Board takes next step for relocating transportation maintenance and buildings and grounds department

    At its meeting Monday, January 25, the Alexandria School Board unanimously approved a purchase agreement for the Productive Alternatives, Inc. building and property located at 107 Donna Ave in Alexandria. The property will be used for the buildings and grounds department, transportation maintenance, as well as district storage.
