Alexandria narrows superintendent search

ALEXANDRIA, Minn.--At a special board meeting February 12, the Alexandria School Board selected 6 finalists to interview for the school district’s superintendent vacancy. The finalists were selected from a pool of 21 applicants based on criteria established by the school board. The finalists are:

  • Ryan Laager, Superintendent, Belle Plaine Public Schools, Belle Plaine, MN
  • Rick Sansted, Assistant Superintendent - Teaching and Learning, Alexandria Public Schools, Alexandria, MN
  • Chris Swenson, Superintendent, Holdingford Public Schools, Holdingford, MN
  • Eric Hudspith, Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development, Mankato Area Public Schools, Mankato, MN
  • Michael Neubeck, Middle School Principal, Mahtomedi Public Schools, Mahtomedi, MN
  • Kristine Wehrkamp, Executive Director of Community Education, Robbinsdale Area Schools, Robbinsdale, MN

The school board has scheduled public interviews for the finalists beginning at 4:00 p.m. on February 26, with continuation at 10:00 a.m. on February 28, in the District Office, 1410 South McKay Ave, Alexandria.

The board will then select finalists for second-round interviews on March 6. The district’s next leader is expected to be named in mid-March and will take the helm on July 1.
