Enrollment Information

New Students

We welcome new students to our school system. All new students may be registered by using our online enrollment tool.  To use this tool, you must first request a Parent Account by emailing our enrollment coordinator Wendy Fridgen (enrollment@alexschools.org) or by calling 320-762-2141 x4510.

Elementary students are placed at the elementary school that serves their neighborhood attendance area based on their home address. The exceptions to this are Carlos Cardinal Academy (PreK-5) and Miltona Science Magnet School (K-5) which are both school choice options. ISD 206 families outside the Carlos and Miltona boundary areas may choose to have their child/ren attend these schools, with transportation provided by the district until the schools reach capacity. 

Carlos Cardinal Academy offers a four-day school week with an extended day that enhances high student achievement through student electives rooted in creativity, movement and leadership opportunities. Their motto is "Grow, Learn, Lead," reflecting on the school's commitment to discover and pursue student strengths and interests, and grow as confident learners, creators and leaders.

Miltona Science Magnet School offers a science-focused program for students with a focus on the environment. Their motto is "Branching out to create an appreciation of our environment," achieving this by enhancing core curriculum with environmental projects.

District Boundaries

If you are new to the area, considering a move, or moving within the Greater Alexandria Area you may confirm your residence is part of the Alexandria Public Schools-ISD 206 boundaries by visiting the Minnesota Secretary of State's website and utilizing the poll finder tool.
