For the safety of our guests/swimmers under the age of 12 must be accompainied by an adult (18+) in the water and be within an arm's reach at all times. Maximum of three children per in-water adult supervisor. Children 13 and older must have an adult present on deck.
Shallow Water Requirements:
Any child under 12 that wants to swim outside of an arm's reach of their supervising adult in the shallow end must wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket OR pass the swim test.Deep Water Requirements:
Any child under 12 that wants to swim in the deep end must take the swim test. Children 12 and under who are not able to pass the swim test may utilize the dep end if they are wearing a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jaceket AND are within an arm's reach of an adult.Swim Test:
Participant must swim 15 yards utilizing freestyle or breaststroke without stopping or grabbing onto the side or lane line. An upright head position is allowed. No underwater swimming is allowed. The test will only be given onece per day-swimmers who do not pass may retake the test the next time they attend Open Swim.Once the swim test is passed, the swimmer will not need to re-take the test each time. A list of all passing swimmers will be kept at the pool. If for any reason the lifeguard feels the simmer is unsafe, or appears uncomfortable in the water, he/she may be asked to re-take the test. Anyboday of ANY AGE can be asked to take the swim test for safety of all patrons.
Swimmers who have passed the swim test will be issued a wristband. A new wristband will need to be issued each time the swimmer attends Open Swim.
The swim test is at the complete discretion of the lifeguards on duty.

- Riding on shoulders, shoving, fighting or any other forms of horseplay will not be allowed.
- Persons having infectious diseases, open sores, bandages or recent vaccination are not permitted in the pool.
- Children must be at least 50' tall or be accompanied in the water by an adult
- Diving allowed in marked areas only.
- The use of toys, balls, and aquatic games is at the discretion of the lifeguards on duty.
- Swimmers using the diving area must be able to swim the width of the pool. No one may "catch" another swimmer from the diving board.
- Remember to walk. The pool deck is slippery when wet.
- No running on bleachers.
- Street shoes are prohibited on deck.
- Back dives or flips from the side of the pool are not allowed.
- Food or drink in the pool area is prohibited.
- Floatation devices are allowed, hoever children must reamin with an arms length of their parent if they are utilizing them. Flotation devices are allowed in the pool and must be less than six feet in dimension. Flotation devices are allowed in the shallow end only. Children fewere than 50 inches must be accompanied in the water and supervised by someone 14 years of age or older.
- Only U.S. Coast Guard floatation devices are allowed in the pool.
- Infants and children who have not been potty-trained must wear a swim diaper.
- Lifeguard have total authority in regard to the control of persons using the pool and have the right to revoke swimming privileges to those who do not follow the rules.

- Swimmers using the diving area must be able to swim the width of the pool.
- One person on the board at a time.
- One jump only - no double-bouncing.
- No back flips or back dives.
- No running on the board.
- No one may "catch" another swimmer from the diving board.
- Each person must wait until the person before them has swum to the ladder before going off the board.
- No horseplay on the board, ladder, or underneath the board in the pool.
- No hanging from the board.
- Do not play with the fulcrum.

Community Education has a minimal amount of small (30-50 lb.) and medium (50-70 lb.) life jackets available for use. It is highly recommended to bring your own U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket.
Children who are not potty trained are required to wear a swim diaper. Community Education does NOT have swim diapers available for purchase.
Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool, and must be less than six feet in dimension. Flotation devices are allowed in the shallow end only. Children must remain within an arm's reach of an adult if they are utilizing them.
It is the responsibility of each swimmer and supervising adult to know and follow the pool and diving board rules.
