Voting Information

  • Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Your polling location may be different than the last time you voted. Find your polling location by visiting the state of Minnesota pollfinder. The list of polling locations for this election:

    Voting location: Lake Community Church, 490 Voyager Drive, Alexandria

    Vote Early in Person
    Starting September 20, you can vote early in person at the Woodland Elementary Building/District Office, 1410 S McKay Ave.
    Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., September 20 - November 4

    Extended early voting hours at the Woodland Elementary Building/District Office will also be available on the following days:
    - Saturday, Sept 21, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    - Saturday, Sept 28, 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
    - Tuesday, Oct 29, 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    - Thursday, Oct 31, 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
    - Monday, Nov 4, 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

    Vote Early by Mail
    Request an absentee ballot by calling 320-762-2141 ext. 4213 or download and print an absentee application. Once you have completed the application, return it to the address noted on the back. Once the application is received, an absentee ballot will be mailed to you with instructions. Mail your ballot back in the pre-paid, pre-addressed envelope that was provided with your ballot materials. Ballots must be received by Nov 4.

    How do I register to vote?
    If you are a a resident of Alexandria Public Schools, you may register at the polls on November 5, at the same time you come to vote.

    You may also register at your county courthouse until three weeks before the election - until October 15 for our November 5 special election. After October 15, you should register to vote at the polls on November 5.

    You may download a copy of the voter registration form, fill it out, sign it, and mail it to your county courthouse in time for it to be received by October 15. Visit the Secretary of State website at www.sos.state.mn.us
